On our museum visite, this piece really stood out to me. I have always had a fascination with old abandoned buildings like mental asylums, schools, and churches. All the stories and lives lived that are left behind in these places and the creepy vibes.
My Story
I have a long struggle with psychosis myself and am passionate about mental illness awareness and how mentally ill and vulnerable people are treated in our society. I also work in the Dementia Ward at a private hospital/retirement home so I am in contact with the elderly with mental illness and I have experienced the good and bad around their care.
